Texas Man Dies After Being Struck By 2 Vehicles On I-395
D.C. Police released the identity of a Texas man who was truck by two vehicles while he was walking on I-395.
WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives with the Major Crash Investigation Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department identified the victim Wednesday in a traffic fatality that occurred Aug. 23 on I-395, according to a release. MPD identified the decedent as Caleb Herndon, 21, of Baytown, Texas.
Around 1:52 a.m., Herndon was walking northbound on I-395 near the exit ramp from the 9th Street Tunnel when he was struck by a vehicle. He was then struck a second time by a westbound vehicle. D.C. Fire and EMS transported Herndon to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries; however, all efforts to save his life failed and he was pronounced dead.
