Total Coronavirus Cases In DC Tops 1,200

D.C. Health confirmed 114 new positive cases of the new coronavirus among District residents, including four firefighters.

WASHINGTON, DC — The D.C. Department of Health confirmed 114 new positive cases for the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, as of Monday night. This brings the total number of positive cases in the district to 1,211.

The District also confirmed that one person who died on March 29 of COVID-19 was actually a Maryland resident and that a duplication of data occurred on April 4. The new number of District residents who lost their lives to the coronavirus is 22.

D.C. Fire and EMS Chief Gregory Dean confirmed in statement on Twitter that four more members of his department had tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of D.C. Fire and EMS personnel to test positive to 38. Eight of those who tested positive have recovered and will be returning to active service.
