Trump's Mom: 'What Kind Of Son Have I Created?' - Report

Mary Trump reportedly despaired at her son's behavior as he publicly embarrassed his wife Ivana back in 1990.

Back in 1990, probably no one expected that Donald Trump would one day be president, but a Vanity Fair profile of him from that year provided a revealing tidbit about how the people in his life viewed him at the time. And that included his mother, Mary Trump, who reportedly asked Trump's ex-wife Ivana: "What kind of son have I created?"

Her remark reportedly came during Trump's widely publicized association with Marla Maples, even as he was still married to Ivana. Ivana had been "completely humiliated" by Donald because of Maples.

And it wasn't just his mother. Donald Trump, Jr. may be going to bat for his father every day on Twitter now, but back then when he was just 12 years old, he reportedly lashed out at his father's behavior: "How can you say you love us? You don’t love us! You don’t even love yourself. You just love your money."

All of this came at a time when his empire neared collapse, when "Trump isolated himself in a small apartment on a lower floor of Trump Tower," Vanity Fair reported. "He would lie on his bed, staring at the ceiling, talking into the night on the telephone."

A lot sure has changed in the 27 years since: Trump has since become President of the United States, Ivana wants credit for being the true First Lady, Donald Jr. is firmly on his side, and his empire at least appears to be doing quite well.
