Vehicle Of Interest Sought In Traffic Fatality On Eastern Avenue
D.C. detectives are looking for a vehicle that struck and killed 55-year-old Juanita McDowney of Southeast on Tuesday night.

WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives from the Major Crash Investigations Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department are asking the public's help in locating a vehicle of interest in connection with a traffic fatality that occurred Tuesday night, according to a police release.
Officers from the Sixth District responded around 10:37 p.m., to the 1500 block of Eastern Avenue, Northeast for the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. They found a female victim, unconscious and unresponsive, in the far right westbound lanes. D.C. Fire and EMS examined the woman and determined that she had died. Police identified the decedent as Juanita McDowney, 55, of Southeast.
Police released a photo of a vehicle of interest in this case, describing it as red in color and possibly being a Volkswagen Jetta.
