Victim, Attacker Both Shot In Sexual Assault At Hotel: Police

WASHINGTON, DC — A Northeast man was arrested Sunday in connection with a sexual assault after a handgun was fired, which shot both the victim and the attacker, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release.

Around 6:25 a.m., the victim used an online dating app to set up a date to meet the suspect at a hotel in the Unit Block of E Street, Northwest. Arriving at the victim's hotel room, the suspect pointed a handgun and tried to commit a sexual act on the victim. A struggle ensued and the handgun fired, striking both the victim and suspect

D.C. Fire and EMS took both people to area hospitals to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police charged Anthony Lillard, of Northeast, with assault with intent to commit first-degree sexual abuse and assault with a dangerous weapon.
