Victim Sexually Assaulted On Metro Platform: Police
Metro Transit police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred Sunday evening at the Tenleytown Station platform.

WASHINGTON, DC — The Metro Transit Police Department apprehended a suspect Sunday in connection with a first-degree sexual assault at the Tenleytown Station platform, according to a post on MTPD's official Twitter account.
Around 5 p.m., the victim pointed out the suspect to an MTPD officer, who then placed the suspect under arrest. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital to receive post-incident medical care.
According to police, the suspect assaulted the victim at the Tenleytown Station platform, and then both boarded a Red Line train. They exited at the Cleveland Park Station, where the victim notified MTPD of the assault.

This case remains under investigation. MTPD is working with the Metropolitan Police Department and has contacted the Sexual Assault Response Team and the U.S. Attorney's Office Sex Offense Section, as well as victim support services.
