Video: Homicide Suspect Sought In Northeast Fatal Shooting

D.C. homicide detectives release surveillance footage of a vehicle and suspect in connection with a July 1 fatal shooting in Northeast.

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department released a video Wednesday in connection with a Sunday morning fatal shooting in Northeast, according to a police release.

Around 1:20 a.m., on Sunday, officers from the Sixth District were dispatched to the 4000 block of Grant Street, N.E., for the report of the sound of gunshots. They found an unconscious man, suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS arrived on the scene and determined the victim showed no signs consistent with life. They later transferred the victim to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

MPD identified the decedent as Dennis Dykes, 34, of Southeast.
