WASHINGTON, DC -- Metropolitan Police Department detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying a group of suspects involved in a violent New Year's Day attack on H Street, Northwest, according to a police release.

On Wednesday, Jan. 1, around 12:40 p.m., multiple suspects approached the victim in the 400 block of H Street, Northwest. They assaulted him and took his property, before fleeing from the scene. The suspect received non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The attack was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and police posted the video to YouTube:
