Washington's Plans for #GivingTuesdayNow for COVID-19 Relief
The Catalogue for Philanthropy, #GivingTuesday community leader, organizes Give Local Together to mobilize the nation's capital on May 5

Efforts in the national capital region to support nonprofits and the people they serve during the COVID-19 pandemic will pick up speed on Tuesday, May 5, with #GivingTuesdayNow, which is a new global day of giving and unity.
The Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington, a nonprofit that's the region's only locally-focused guide to giving and volunteering, has long served as the community leader for #GivingTuesday, always held the Tuesday right after Thanksgiving.
The #GivingTuesdayNow local website is www.givelocaltogether.org; the website includes a running total of dollars raised.

Local nonprofits provide everything from food and housing to our most vulnerable neighbors to inspiring artistic productions we are all proud to have in our community. And these organizations need our support today to respond to COVID-19.
Some are facing increased demand as they meet the medical, housing, hunger, and other basic needs of our community. Others have to halt or shift their education, environmental, and arts programming due to social distancing. Regardless, all have an urgent need for support today.

Nonprofits can sign up to participate in the Catalogue's Give Local Together campaign at www.surveygizmo.com/s3/5536643/Register-for-the-Catalogue-s-Give-Local-Together-Campaign. Any local 501(c)3 nonprofit with an annual budget under $4 million can participate if they typically provide direct community services in the greater Washington region.
"It's the Catalogue's mission to shine a light on and support those organizations that are doing the hard work to help the vulnerable among us. With the spread of COVID-19, the nonprofit community is confronted with an unprecedented challenge, one that threatens not only the critical services they provide, but also the organizations themselves," says Aaron Gonzales, co- Executive Director of the Catalogue for Philanthropy.
