Watch Baby Ducklings Get Rescued by DC Fire and EMS (Video)
Ducklings became trapped in a storm drain near the National Mall Monday, and D.C. Fire and EMS came to their rescue.

WASHINGTON, DC — It was a very untypical day on the job for D.C. Fire and EMS workers, who were tasked with rescuing trapped baby ducklings in a storm drain and then returning them to their worried mother. And it was all caught on video, embedded below.
The duckling rescue unfolded Monday afternoon at the intersection of 12th Street and Maine Avenue SW, just off the National Mall and around the corner from L'Enfant Plaza. Ducklings had fallen into a storm drain, and the mother duck was standing nearby trying to figure out what to do.
D.C. Fire and EMS immediately went to work, tweeting out photos of emergency personnel painstakingly removing each duckling one by one from the drain and placing them in a crate.
