WATCH: DC High School Coach Wins $5K With Frisbee Throw

The Head Coach of Woodrow Wilson High School's boys ultimate frisbee team won the grand prize during Sunday's DC Breeze Pro Ultimate game.

WASHINGTON, DC — The Head Coach of Woodrow Wilson High School's boys ultimate frisbee team won a grand prize of $5,000 during Sunday's DC Breeze Pro Ultimate game at Gallaudet University. The winning throw was part of the DC Breeze #5kToss Challenge Series, in which a fan is randomly selected from the crowd at each Breeze home game this season for a chance to win a t-shirt, a fan pack and the prize money.

Coach Dave Ohls was the first one to come close to the grand prize all season. To win the prize money, the contestant must hit a mannequin with a frisbee from 50 yards away. Not only did Ohls win a hefty sum of money, his team was there to watch him win. The teams were participating in High School Ultimate night, where the Breeze gave out free tickets to over 100 high school ultimate players and coaches to celebrate the end of the high school season.

Most of the players and coaches in attendance already knew Ohls, since he's widely considered to be a primary leader and coordinator of high school ultimate throughout the DC area, and is the longtime coach of Woodrow Wilson High School and also coaches a DC area YCC team.
