Wawa Is Coming To DC: Report
Wawa reportedly is testing out a unique restaurant version of its famous convenience stores in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — The beloved East Coast convenience store chain Wawa can be found everywhere from Florida to the outskirts of New York City, but not in the District. That's about to change, however.
Wawa was founded in 1964 and operates more than 700 stores along the Interstate 95 corridor, including two locations in D.C.'s Maryland suburbs, and one in Chantilly in Northern Virginia. Now, Popville reports that an event will be held at the Newseum on June 13 in advance of the opening of Wawa in D.C. that will provide a "Front Page Look at the Wawa Experience," according to a flyer posted by the site.
"The news is out: Wawa is creating a store uniquely designed for the DC Customer!" the flyer reads. "Our restaurant-style location will feature the best of Wawa's products and innovations in a casual, inviting setting.

"Join us at the Newseum as we write a new Wawa story and mark the beginning of construction on our first Wawa store in DC," the flyer continues. "As a company committed to evolving to create the best customer experiences, we invite you to hear the full story as we 'unveil' the first glimpse of our future Wawa experience and celebrate our entrance into DC!"
The Newseum is located at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The event will take place from 6-8 p.m. on June 13, including a "Taste of Wawa" reception.
