White House Being Totally Transformed Into Christmas Wonderland

It's Obama's last holidays in office, and the White House is going all out with the decorations.

WASHINGTON, DC — There are few buildings on the planet that can boast the level of holiday decorations at the White House, and President Obama's home is undergoing a radical transformation for his last holiday there.

The White House even has a "theme" each year, and this time around it is, "The Gift of the Holidays," which will focus around family and friends, as well as reflection and remembrance -- an appropriate sentiment as Obama ends his eight years in the highest office in the land, according to an inside look by Deesha Dyer, White House Social Secretary, which was posted on the White House's official website.

"As the White House Social Secretary, it’s my job to lead the transformation of the People’s House during the holiday season and help welcome everyone who comes through the White House doors," Dyer writes. "It all begins six months ahead of time with input from Mrs. Obama along with a talented team of designers who come up with amazing and festive concepts and sketches for the entire White House, the private residence, and the West Wing (including the Oval Office)."

The staff must sort through the huge amount of letters from citizens who want to volunteer to help decorate. Those volunteers arrive the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Dyer promises that full imagery of the White House decor will be available soon, and provided a few sneak peaks on the White House website.
