Winter Weather Advisory For DC Area Extended
Light snow and flurries are continuing, which may reduce visibility in the area.

Snow is continuing to fall in the D.C. area late Thursday morning as the "bomb cyclone" sweeps up through the East Coast, although it's mostly just flurries and is unlikely to accumulate any further. As a result, the winter weather advisory for the D.C. area has been extended until 1 p.m.
Predictions of a dusting to two inches of snow turned out to be pretty accurate, as Reagan National got 0.8 inches of snow. Out at Dulles Airport, there was only a dusting of 0.1 inches, which was in line with predictions that snowfall totals would greatly diminish the farther west you went.
"Still snow showers & flurries around DC area," the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang tweeted at 10:38 a.m. "Not accumulating much but may reduce visibility in gusty winds."

Coastal areas along the East Coast are getting absolutely hammered. Just 80 miles southeast of D.C. in Ridge, Md., nearly half a foot of snow fell. And in Long Island, N.Y., residents are getting seeing blizzard conditions and three inches of snow per hour.
Roads in the D.C. area are mostly clear, but many are still relatively slick and not fully plowed.

Winter weather advisory for DC area extended until 1p as light snow and flurries are lingering. Little additional accumulation, but snow and wind will lower visibility and keep things messy. https://t.co/mM8CJ3nsha
