WASHINGTON, DC -- Imagine opening a bag of kale and finding out it wasn't vegetarian. That's what happened to one D.C. Trader Joe's customer, who found a "very dead" lizard mixed in with the greens, according to a report. The alarming picture is embedded below.
People Magazine reported that Grace Goldstein visited one of the Trader Joe's in D.C. -- located at 1101 25th St. NW near Foggy Bottom, according to the Daily Meal -- and purchased a bag of cleaned, ready-to-cook kale. But when she got home, she made the unpleasant surprise.

“It was a back and forth between denial and horror, which amounted to a lot of asking my boyfriend to see the bag of kale and identify the lizard and shrieking and pushing it away and refusing to go near it ... and then asking to see it again,” she told People.
Trader Joe's told People they are investigating the complaint.
