'O Holy Night' Fills Metro Station with Holiday Cheer
The woman, a professional singer from Las Vegas, belted out the holiday classic while reportedly visiting the District with family.
WASHINGTON, DC — A woman decided the Union Station Metro needed a little bit of holiday cheer while waiting for a train earlier this month, and so she decided to just start singing the holiday classic, "O Holy Night" for riders. When video of the performance made its way online, the response was huge.
The Dec. 3 video, which you can watch below, has been viewed more than 320,000 times and shared nearly 8,000 times as of Tuesday afternoon. The video doesn't identify the woman, but the Washington Post reports that it is 38-year-old Tymara Walker, who is a professional singer from Las Vegas who was visiting the District with her family. Walker has performed as a background singer for Gladys Knight and is an on-call performer for the Michael Jackson ONE Cirque Du Soleil Show, according to the report.
Viewers were blown away to hear the professional singing voice in the usually drab Metro station.
