Actor Woody Harrelson Fought With Man Who Kept Taking Photos At Watergate Hotel: Police

WASHINGTON, DC — Actor Woody Harrelson fought with a man on a rooftop deck at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C., after the man refused to stop taking photos of Harrelson and his daughter, according to reports.

Harrelson punched the man, whose name has not been released by the Metropolitan Police Department. The other man, not Harrelson, was determined to be the aggressor, NBC4 reported. Harrelson, 60, was not charged.

Harrelson has been in D.C. filming the HBO series “The White House Plumbers” about the Watergate political scandal. Harrelson is playing the role of E. Howard Hunt, the CIA officer and novelist who plotted the Watergate burglaries and other clandestine operations for the Nixon administration.

According to the D.C. police incident report, Harrelson argued with the man at the Watergate Hotel, 2650 Virginia Ave. NW. The man then lunged at Harrelson in an attempt to grab his neck.

Harrelson then punched the man in his neck “in defense of himself,” according to the incident report.

A man who appeared to be intoxicated had been taking photos of Harrelson and his daughter, according to NBC4. Harrelson approached the man and told him to stop and to delete the photos, the news station reported. That's when the man allegedly lunged toward Harrelson.
