• Arcadia drivers say SR 70 construction is damaging their tires (winknews.com) — State Road 70 construction in Arcadia is leaving some drivers with damaged tires and questions about who pays for repairs. One resident shared how a pothole near Alabama Avenue blew out her tire, prompting her to seek reimbursement. Officials say drivers can file damage claims with both FDOT and the City of Arcadia while the long-running project continues. 
• Chilling Text Sent Just Before Drunk Driver Kills Student Revealed (resistthemainstream.com) — A wrong-way DUI crash on I-75 in Charlotte County killed a 21-year-old USF student and also seriously injured a woman and two children from Arcadia, with one child needing surgery. The driver, with a prior DUI, allegedly had a very high blood alcohol level and is now jailed without bond on manslaughter and homicide charges as the victim’s family and friends honor her memory.
