• Pinellas moves to preserve waterfront land once eyed for development (axios.com) — Waterfront land just west of Bay Pines on Boca Ciega Bay is on track to be purchased by Pinellas County and preserved instead of being developed into condos or commercial space. Using Penny for Pinellas funds, the county plans to acquire 29 acres, including Roasted Turkey Island, with final approval expected from commissioners this fall and a public town hall coming soon.
