• Helicopters to spray for mosquitoes in East Tampa, Bloomingdale as dengue concerns grow (tampabay28.com) — Helicopters will be flying low over parts of Bloomingdale this week as Hillsborough County conducts daytime mosquito-control spraying Oct. 5–9 in the Palm River/West Bloomingdale area. Crews will use a targeted larvicide considered safe for people and pets after dengue virus activity was detected, and residents are urged to wear repellent, cover up, and remove standing water around their homes.
   

• Volleyball Recap: Bloomingdale Now 4-2 Since Losing 4 Straight (maxpreps.com) — Bloomingdale High's volleyball team has bounced back, now 10–8 after a strong tournament showing that included a straight-sets win over Largo. The Bulls, 4–2 since ending a four-game skid, next travel to face Riverview on Monday night, giving local fans another chance to see if this turnaround continues.
