The February meeting of the Brandon Newcomers will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 15th at 9:30 a.m. at the Brandon Community Center, 509 E. Sadie St., Brandon. This will be the club's annual pounding meeting. You bring a package of something that weighs a pound, gift wrapped and then buy tickets five for $1 and drop them in a bag by the gift. The lucky winner picked from each bag will receive a surprise gift of a pound of something. The funnier the better as far as the gift goes. This is a real fun time when you don’t know if you’ll receive something unique or not. Coffee and refreshments will be served. After the meeting, those who wish to participate will go to lunch at Ben’s Family Restaurant at 704 E. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, 813-685-5501.
