
Congregation Beth Shalom will host a Selichot play with the CBS Players Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. at the temple, 706 S. Bryan Rd., Brandon. Selichot is the special service that occurs on the Saturday night before Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year. After the show, the rabbi will lead a discussion. Admission to the show is free. Audience members are asked to bring a dairy dessert to share after the discussion. A Selichot service will conclude the evening's events with melodies, prayers and traditions of the High Holy season, including the sounding of the shofar (ram's horn).
