On Tuesday, June 12, Pam Iorio, the former two-term mayor of Tampa and author of "Straightforward: Ways to Live and Lead," will be the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the East Hillsborough County Democratic Club.

She will discuss the importance of compromise and how the middle ground is being lost in today’s political discourse.

As mayor of Tampa from 2003-11, the Democratic mayor led the city and region through a period of growth, revitalization and reform. Using her skills at identifying key issues involving stakeholders, and leading with compassion, integrity and expertise, Iorio’s tenure has been dubbed “Pamelot” by citizens across the political spectrum. Her 87 percent approval rating when she left office vigorously attests to her appeal.
