Lady Bulls Set To Host River Ridge

River Ridge will travel to Bloomingdale to meet the Lady Bulls in a non-conference match-up on Friday at 7 p.m.

Lady Bulls softball is gaining strong credibility after the 6-5 home win against Durant on Tuesday night. With the win, Bloomingdale has a four-game winning streak going into Friday's match-up against River Ridge.

Bloomingdale (8-7-0, 4-1-0, first place, 6A Division 8) has won its last four games with a combination of timely hitting and precision pitching.

Despite having 11 total wins, River Ridge (11-2-0, 6-1-0, second place, 4A Division 8) remains in second place in its conference behind a Sunlake team that has won 12 games in a row, including a 2-0 win against the Knights on Tuesday night.

Bloomingdale's BA of.312 will be a test for the solid pitching of the Knights. Juniors Jordan Alexander and Katie Marion continue to direct the rising Lady Bull batters this season.

Despite scoring a no-decision with her performance against Durant, Lauren Phillips continues to shine on the mound for the Lady Bulls. Leah Pemberton has also come into her role as a reliever for Bloomingdale as she secured the win against Durant on Tuesday night in a masterful scoreless relief effort.

This is a nonconference game, however, both teams are looking to build upon an already successful 2010-11 softball campaign and prepare for the post-season.

River Ridge will face Bloomingdale on Friday at 7 p.m.
