POD Enterprises Surprises Valrico Family With Prizes, Free Move

The Rings was PODS' two millionth customer.

News Report

After 14 successful years in business, PODS Enterprises Inc. celebrated its two millionth PODS container delivery when it visited the home of John and Lynn Ring in Valrico on Tuesday, June 12. PODS employees surprised the Rings by hand delivering surprise gifts that included two years of free storage along with an upcoming free move.

After moving from North Carolina to Florida two years ago for Lynn’s job, John was struggling to find a job in his profession as an IT specialist. John made the heartfelt decision to leave his home for a year and serve as a network specialist with the U.S. troops in Iraq to support their efforts. After returning home from Iraq in May 2012, he decided to continue working with the U.S. military.

The Rings became PODS’ two millionth customer when John received a job as an IT specialist at a U.S. Air Force base in Homestead, and he booked his upcoming move to Homestead at the end of June.

Founded in 1998, PODS currently provides moving and storage services to a population of more than 250 million consumers and businesses in 48 U.S. states, Canada, Australia and the UK through its company-owned and independent franchise network. To date, the PODS network has completed more than 350,000 long-distance relocations, exceeded two million deliveries and has nearly 143,000 PODS containers in service.

PODS secure containers are constructed of a steel frame and are available in three sizes: approximately 7-by-7-by-8 feet, 12-by-8-by-8 feet and 16-by-8-by-8 feet. The 12-foot and 16-foot containers have been tested to withstand winds of more than 110-mph when partially loaded.
