Son Arrested for Alleged Murder of His Mother in Riverview

RIVERVIEW, FL – An 18-year-old was arrested and charged with the first-degree murder of his mother, who was found dead Monday -- on her 39th birthday -- in a Riverview townhome, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Joshua Leon Carmona was booked this morning into the Hillsborough County Jail for allegedly killing Tahirih Lua D'Angelo. Charges included weapon offense enhancement of a baseball bat and knife, officials said.

Deputies responded shortly after 4 p.m. to the residence on the 6900 block of Hawthorne Trace Lane after a family member called regarding a welfare check. D'Angelo was found deceased with "upper body trauma," officials said.
