Troopers Find Pickup That May Have Killed 13-Year-Old Dover Boy

The Florida Highway Patrol has confiscated a pickup truck that may have been involved in the hit-and-run crash that killed a Dover boy.

DOVER, FL - The Florida Highway Patrol has confiscated a white 2015 Ford F250 pickup truck that may have been involved in the hit-and-run crash that killed a 13-year-old Turkey Creek Middle School student.

While troopers haven’t made an arrest, they say the owner of the pickup truck notified them that his pickup truck had been involved in an accident. Troopers went to a home on Old Dixie Highway in Auburndale and took the truck into evidence. The truck has damage consistent with pieces of a truck of the same make and model found at the accident scene on State Road 574 at Mott Road Sunday, April 6.

The FHP will conduct forensic tests to determine if it is the same truck that hit and killed Jesus Navarro as he was walking on SR 574 around 12:33 a.m. Sunday (see related story).
