Whiz Kid: Jordan Alexander
This week's Whiz Kid earned the team's MVP for her stellar performance in 2010.
Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Sidney Crosby are all are stars in their respective sport and all have earned the title of Most Valuable Player.
Most sports fans recognize a team’s most valuable player as the one man or woman who exemplifies the meaning of hoisting a collected group of individuals upon their shoulders to carry the team to victory. These individuals are often characterized by their game-time heroics, outstanding statistics, courage in the line of fire and leadership skills that cannot be measured by numbers alone.
During the 2010 softball season at Bloomingdale High School, no one better embodied the spirit of leadership valuable performance and team commitment than #19, junior catcher, Jordan Alexander.

Alexander led the Lady Bulls in many statistical categories in the 2010 season including runs scored, RBI and individual BA. She finished the season with one of the hottest bats in the Bloomingdale lineup batting .455 in 77 AB’s. With a .649 slugging percentage, she drove in 28 RBI while scoring 21 runs and stealing 20 bases complete with two triples and two home runs.
Along with her phenomenal batting contributions, the junior catcher played solid defensively, committing no errors to finish the season with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Alexander was also a main ingredient in the pitching mix that gave the Lady Bulls their late-season push as they made a run to the post-season. She assisted in the molding of a very talented pitching duo led by juniorsLeah Pemberton and Lauren Phillips.
The junior, along with Pemberton and Phillips, will return to the Lady Bulls in the 2011-2012 season to lead them even deeper into the post-season picture in Hillsborough County's highly competitive 6A District 8.
