BLOOMINGDALE PATCH WHIZ KID OF THE WEEK NAME: Maddie Hess ACCOMPLISHMENT: A member of the Blue Wave Swim Team at Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center, swimmer Maddie Hess broke individual records in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke events at the Florida Age Group Championships held in Clearwater Feb. 18-20. Those two events along with her time in the 200-yard freestyle earned her a spot at the National Club Swimming Association Junior National Meet held in Orlando March 15-19. DETAILS: At the Florida Age Group Championships held in Clearwater, the Blue Wave Swim Team swam 53 best times, breaking records (previously held for 15 years) in two 13/14 Girls Relay events. Members of the Girls 13/14 relay team are Maddie Hess, Mollie Billingsley, Louiza  Garayeva  and Lauren Harper.
