• RoadWatch – 06-03-2026 (islander.org) — Expect lane closures on the Anna Maria Island Bridge and near the Cortez Bridge as utility and construction work continues, which could slow trips to and from Bradenton Beach. MCAT’s free island trolley still runs daily between Coquina Beach in Bradenton Beach and the Anna Maria City Pier, with easy transfers to mainland buses at the beach hubs.
   

• Nesting notes: Double the delight (islander.org) — Sea turtles and shorebirds are nesting in force along Anna Maria Island, with Bradenton Beach colonies of black skimmers and least terns growing and preparing for hatching season. Local turtle-watch leaders urge you to dim beachfront lights, clear furniture, and avoid disturbing posted nesting areas so both turtles and birds can safely raise their young.
