1 Killed, Another Injured In Bradenton Shooting: Police

Responding units found a vehicle in the road surrounded by spent shell casings with two victims inside, police said.

BRADENTON, FL — One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting Sunday morning in Bradenton, police said.

Deputies on patrol around 3 a.m. heard gunshots in the 5200 block of 14th Street West, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, which added that responding units found a vehicle in the road surrounded by spent shell casings with two victims inside.

A 27-year-old man died at the scene and a 22-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital, police said.

“The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation, and detectives are actively following leads,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release. “No arrests have been made at this time. Based on preliminary information, detectives believe this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence.”
