2 Motorcyclists Critically Injured In Separate U.S. 41 Crashes: FHP
Two motorcyclists were critically injured in separate crashes on U.S. 41 in Manatee County Thursday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Two motorcyclists were critically injured Thursday afternoon in separate U.S. 41 crashes in Manatee County, according to news releases from FHP.
Just after 3 p.m., a 23-year-old Sarasota man lost control of his motorcycle while changing lanes south of Seagate Drive, the agency said.
He hit a curb and then was thrown from his motorcycle after colliding with a concrete power pole, FHP said. He was brought to an area hospital for treatment of his critical injuries.

Around 4:30 p.m., a 19-year-old Ruskin man on a motorcycle was speeding south of 45th Street E., the agency said.
He wasn’t able to negotiate a curve in the road, driving onto the grassy median. He overturned several times and was thrown from his motorcycle, according to FHP. He was also critically injured and brought to a local hospital.
