3-Year-Old Thrown From Truck In Manatee County Crash: FHP
A toddler was seriously injured after being thrown from a pick-up truck during a two-vehicle crash in Manatee, FL Highway Patrol said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A 3-year-old girl from Bradenton was seriously injured after being thrown from a pick-up truck during a two-vehicle crash Saturday night on State Road 62, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The truck’s driver, a 36-year-old Bradenton woman, was also seriously injured in the crash.
The truck was driving west in the westbound lane, east of County Road, when the woman lost control just before 7 p.m. She veered onto the northern grassy shoulder before reentering the road and rotating back onto the travel lanes into the path of another pick-up truck that was traveling east on the state road, FHP said.

The second truck was driven by a 77-year-old Navarre man who suffered minor injuries when he hit the right side of the other truck.
The toddler was thrown from the first truck through the rear right window and brought to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, the agency said.

After the collision, the first truck continued to rotate and hit a wooden utility pole on the south shoulder.
The crash remains under investigation.
