72-Year-Old Bradenton Man Charged in Child Porn Case

The Bradenton Police Department is continuing its investigation into a child pornography case involving a 72-year-old man.

According to the department, an investigation into activities being conducted by Gerald Lucas was launched back on March 22. On May 1, detectives executed a search warrant at Lucas’ 1413 32nd St. W. home and uncovered enough evidence to charge him with 50 second-degree felony counts of possession of child pornography.

News of Lucas’ arrest was made public on Wednesday with the department asking for anyone with information in the case to come forward. Those who do have information are asked to call Det. Lucas remained in the Manatee County Jail Wednesday, also charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Each child pornography count carries a $10,000 bond amount, according to jail records.
