Parrish Crash Leaves 92-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized With Serious Injuries Wednesday: FHP

The crash happened Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. 301 and 91st Avenue East, Florida Highway Patrol said.

PARRISH, FL — A 92-year-old Sun City Center woman was seriously injured in a crash in Parrish Wednesday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The woman was heading west on U.S. 301 approaching the intersection of 91st Avenue East around 3:50 p.m.

When the SUV ahead of her stopped for traffic, she didn’t ensure enough stopping distance and hit the back of the SUV, FHP said.

The woman was airlifted to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton in serious condition.

The SUV’s driver, a 74-year-old woman from Canada, and her passenger, a 50-year-old Parrish man suffered only minor injuries in the crash.
