Affordable Care from SCF’s Dental Hygiene Clinic Will Brighten Smiles

SCF's Dental Hygiene Clinic provides teeth cleanings, oral examinations, dental X-rays, fluoride and sealants to patients ages 6 and older.

The dental hygiene clinic at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) can help you celebrate National Fresh Breath Day this month when its low cost clinic reopens on August 22. SCF's Dental Hygiene Clinic at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., Building 2, provides teeth cleanings, oral examinations, dental X-rays, fluoride and sealants to patients ages 6 and older. Clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Friday.

Care is provided by SCF students under the supervision of licensed dental hygiene instructors and dentists. The cost ranges from $10 per quadrant for sealants to $52 for adult complex cleanings with x-rays. No insurance is required.

To celebrate National Fresh Breath Day, recognized on Aug. 6, students and instructors offered a few reminders for keeping a clean mouth.

  • Replace your toothbrush every three months or after an illness.
  • floss daily,
  • brush your teeth after each meal,
  • brush your tongue to remove the debris that collects there,
  • stay hydrated
  • and don’t smoke and if you do, quit. Smoking is bad for the mouth, as well as the heart and lungs.
