BRADENTON, FL — After recent reports that Motorworks Brewing was facing a $1.9 million foreclosure case, ownership said that the brewery is “here to stay” in a statement shared on social media on Saturday.
“We want to take a moment to thank everyone for the incredible support, messages and encouragement over the past few days,” the company said. “We are happy to share that we are now current with the bank and working closely together to resolve the matter moving forward.”
Motorworks, located at 1014 9th Street W., was facing a $1.9 million foreclosure case, the Bradenton Herald reported on May 27.
Seacoast National Bank, the plaintiff, filed the foreclosure lawsuit on May 21 across four loans borrowed by Motorworks Brewing LLC and Princess T LLC. The bank is seeking repayment of the loan’s principal, interest and late fees, and also asked the court for a deficiency judgment and an order to sell the property and evict the brewery, the Herald said.
The brewery appears to have closed its downtown Orlando tasting room at 131 N. Orange Ave. last week after being served a five-day eviction notice for failing to pay rent, Orlando Shine reported. A notice posted to the door by the landlord demanded nearly $13,000 in unpaid rent.
The only locations listed on the Motorworks website are the Bradenton beer garden, a Tampa taproom on Harbour Island and a location at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.
“Grateful for your incredible support. We’re committed to bringing you great beer and unforgettable moments. Can't wait to see everyone soon in the beer garden. Cheers to community and a bright future,” the brewery said.
