BRADENTON, FL — A Mexican restaurant on Anna Maria Island has expanded, opening a second location in Bradenton.
Los Chiludos Fresh Mexican Grill celebrated the grand opening of its location at 4418 State Road 64 E. location, in the Braden River shopping plaza, on Thursday.
“We look forward to seeing everyone and can't wait to be a part of the Bradenton community. Our website is getting finished so online ordering might not be available immediately. You are more than welcome to come and place an order to go or call us … We have a lot of new staff so PLEASE be patient and understanding,” the owners wrote in a social media post.
The original Los Chiludos restaurant, which opened in 2022, is at 3232 E. Bay Drive in Holmes Beach.
Owner Jose Lemus, originally from Mexico City, met his wife, Tera, in Orange County, California,, according to the restaurant’s website. He worked in the restaurant industry there starting when he was 17, and fell in love with working in the kitchen.
The couple moved with their sons, Anthony and Alonzo, to Pittsburgh in 2000.
Tera and Jose started Los Chiludos by selling homemade salsas at farmer’s markets in Pennsylvania, eventually opening a small restaurant there.
They brought their “traditional Mexican flavors with a fresh, healthier Southern California twist” to Florida when they moved to Anna Maria Island in 2022, the Los Chiludos website said.
Now, the couple’s sons are operating the new Braden River location.
