BRADENTON, FL — A man already being held in jail for the stabbing of a teenager was also served with a murder warrant on Friday in the death of a 44-year-old woman in Manatee County, authorities said.

Quazone Taylor, 34, was charged with second-degree murder in the killing of Starr Lashua, whose decomposing body was found in the backyard of a Bradenton home in the 700 block of 59th Avenue East at the end of August, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Taylor was served the murder warrant at the Manatee County Jail, where he was being held on an attempted murder charge involving a 15-year-old boy last month.

Detectives arrested Taylor on Aug. 24 for stabbing the teen multiple times while visiting a home in the 600 block of 33rd Avenue Drive East on Aug. 18, the sheriff's office said.

During the investigation, witness interviews and forensic evidence led detectives to connect Taylor to Lashua's death.

Detectives determined Taylor had been hiding at a duplex in the 700 block of 59th Avenue East, Bradenton, while wanted in connection with the stabbing.
