BRADENTON, FL — A Bradenton man has been sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release.
Alejandro Marquetti-Blanco, 34, was sentenced to 10 years and one month in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Kyle Dudek.
Marquetti-Blanco was found guilty of distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine by a jury on Feb. 20, the U.S. DOJ said.
According to evidence presented at trial, he distributed a pound of methamphetamine to a co-conspirator. Another co-conspirator later sold the drugs to an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration special agent in Port Charlotte.
The DEA investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mark Morgan and Benjamin Winter.
