Animal Welfare reaches out to local students for help

The local shelter is at capacity and needs volunteers

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) - Manatee County Animal Welfare is currently at capacity, and they are in urgent need of support.

Not only do they have over 120 dogs, but they are down many volunteers and need people to help care for these animals.

The shelter needs as many people as they can get, and that includes Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Mustangs to help serve. Mustangs can sign up on their volunteer application page on their website.

As well as volunteering, the shelter would appreciate it if some people could adopt and/or foster these poor animals.

Lakewood Ranch High School (LRHS) Exceptional Student Education teacher and Animal Welfare volunteer Ivana Ruiz stated, “There are many ways to help volunteer, when you go to the shelter you mainly walk the dogs but other ways to help are being a foster family or even posting about it on social media to help promote the shelter.”
