Arrest Made in Florida Nudist Resort Stabbing

A 14-year-old boy is accused of stabbing a woman out for a walk on a nature trail.

LOXAHATCHEE, FL – A 14-year-old boy faces criminal charges in the Sunday morning stabbing of an 18-year-old woman at a Florida nudist resort.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the boy was brought into custody Tuesday. The teen, who is not being identified, is a resident of the Sunsport Gardens Naturist Resort, where the crime occurred, the sheriff’s office wrote in an email. The boy now faces an aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charge and was booked into that county’s juvenile detention center.

The incident that led to the teen’s arrest occurred around 9:30 a.m. Sunday as the woman was walking on a nature trail. Someone approached her and stabbed her multiple times. While she was hospitalized for her injuries, deputies say the wounds were not life threatening.

Palm Beach detectives have not said how they linked the 13-year-old to the stabbing. They have, however, said the motive for the incident remains unknown.

Sunsport Gardens is described as a family resort that offers campsites and rental accommodations. It is one of many similar resorts found throughout Florida. Sunsport Gardens’ manager Morley Schloss was quoted by ABC as saying there has never been an incident at the resort like Sunday morning’s.

“It’s a peaceful, quiet, family oriented place,” Schloss said.
