MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Back-to-school planning has been underway in Manatee County for weeks, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day.

The first day of school for most students attending Manatee County Schools is Thursday.

The district welcomes a new superintendent, Dr. Jason Wysong, who previously served as a Seminole County Schools administrator.

First Day: Aug. 10

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 20-24

Winter Break: Dec. 22 - Jan. 9

Spring Break: March 25-29

Last Day: May 24
