Bicyclist Hit, Killed On Anna Maria Bridge: Florida Highway Patrol

HOLMES BEACH, FL — A bicyclist was hit and killed on Anna Maria Bridge in Holmes Beach early Wednesday morning, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The 33-year-old New York man was hit by an SUV east of East Bay Drive, approaching the bridge’s center span, just after midnight. After being hit, he was thrown from his bike.

The SUV’s driver, a 23-year-old Bradenton man, was uninjured in the crash.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash.
