Boating Activity Focus Of Holiday Water Enforcement: Manatee Sheriff

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Deputies participated in Operation Dry Water focusing on boating safety Saturday and Sunday, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The agency’s marine and traffic units worked with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Coast Guard to patrol Manatee County waterways over the weekend.

Deputies assisted with two in-water rescues, and arrested two boaters for boating under the influence and one driver for driving under the influence, the agency said.

The sheriff’s office issued three boating citations and wrote 96 warnings for various maritime violations.
