My Wife's a 'Jersey Girl'

Meet my wife, a Jersey Girl

My wife is not from New Jersey. She is from Ohio, about 30 minutes from Pittsburgh. She has been following the Bradenton Marauders since the inaugural season in 2010.

We stumbled upon the team, when we came to a game in July 2010, because my workplace had free tickets. The team had been playing since April of that year, but we weren't interested. Honestly, we were Tampa Bay Rays fans.

The Marauders game was exciting, it was local and it was fun! We were hooked. We finished out the home game schedule and followed the team through the playoffs. Fall of 2010 rolled around and it was time to see if we were real fans of the Marauders or not. We bought 2011 season tickets and decided if we would follow the team, we'd go 'all in' in our support.

My wife won a team jersey during the 2010 Breast Cancer Awareness auction. It was all pink with black sleeves. Great Jersey! In the Spring of 2011, we attended a few Pirates Spring training games and she got another jersey - the new yellow BP one.

Throughout the 2011 Marauders season, she also won the red, white & blue patriotic jersey and and 2011 version of the 'pink' jersey for Breast Cancer Awareness - this time it was reversed - all black with pink sleeves.

In the off season, we obtained a beige/black Pirates jersey, a maroon Pirates jersey and even started branching out to the other Pirates affiliates - namely, the West Virginia Power jersey. (We're getting Altoon Curve jerseys in a few weeks).

You can see, from the pictures in this article, several of the jerseys she has collected and will proudly wear in support of the Bradenton Marauders & Pirates organizations.

While she may not be from New Jersey, as long as she enjoys the game of baseball, she'll always be a Jersey Girl!
