Packing Party for the Troops Saturday at Manasota Operation Troop Support

MOTS Monthly Packing Party for the Troops, June 15th

It's Packing Party for the Troops time on Saturday, June 15th, at 9am!  Our new shelves at MOTS, built by volunteer Bill Pretyka and his friends, are now loaded with donations waiting to be packed and sent to troops in the Middle East. We start right at 9am and everyone is welcome to come. Yes, everyone.

"Mail Call" is a familiar phrase that many generations have grown up hearing.  What does it mean?  When you are in the military serving your country far from your home and family, it means that you have not been forgotten.

If you know of a deployed troop in the Middle East with family ties to the Manatee or Sarasota County area please share our information with them.  We send at least one box every month for every deployment, oftentimes two.  These care packages are loaded with protein like beef jerky, sweet and sour, and personal items too. One important component that is never left out is mail from our community.  Children's art is a real treat for our military. Drawings, paintings and poems all connect them to home for just a little while as they munch on Oreos and Twizzlers.  It costs absolutely nothing to be a part of this project. Just two hands and a soft spot in your heart for a Soldier or Marine.
