This Old Bungalow Has Walls!
Arts & Eats soon to be new home gets walls and concrete.
This was quite an exciting week for us at the future home of on 1114 12th Street West in Bradenton's wonderful Village of the Arts. Yes — we have drywall and the walls have been skim coated and primed.
It's actually beginning to look like a restaurant space and we are so excited! We selected tin tiles for the ceiling in the dining room (see photo) from right here in Bradenton. Ken, the owner, helped me pick out the tile and the price was very reasonable. They both sell and manufacture the tiles in Bradenton.
Today we're going to select paint colors for part of the dining room, the bathroom, porch and exterior doors. We've already decided on a bright yellow (Jim calls it Thomas Jefferson yellow after the color of the walls at Monticello) with purplish-burgundy trim for the main dining area.

Yesterday, the concrete guys came to pave the parking space and replace the steps in front of the house. I also selected lighting for the front of the house and bathroom. They had a garage sale at on E. Manatee Ave. I got two beautiful fixtures for $55! Such a deal. Check out our photos for the visuals.
