Toys For Local Troop's Tots
Local Clubs Donate to "Toys For Troop's Tots" at Manasota Operation Troop Support
The children of local deployed U.S. military troops who are serving in the Middle East will have a merrier Christmas waiting under the tree for them thanks to some patriotic folks in our community.
The American Legion Riders of Post 312 held a "Ride For The Kids" for MOTS for the fourth year in a row. The Oneco Post has always been a great supporter of MOTS and this year was no exception. There was great music, a raffle and a 50/50 drawing.
Many winners of the Poker Run donated their winnings back to MOTS, what a great group of people! Proceeds of the Poker Run and the Ladie's Auxiliary of 312 totaled $2,355. And with more donations from Eagle Riders 3171 and the American Legion Riders of Post 309, there was a grand total of $2,555 donated to Manasota Operation Troop Support. Can I get a big "HOOAH!"?!

The Vietnam Brotherhood, Alpha Company, and the Postal Customer Council of Manasota collaborated to collect and donate a mountain of toys for our local deployed troop's children this week. Military moms and dads have been coming in all week to shop in the MOTS warehouse for just the right gifts for their children. Thank you to Wayne Price and everyone else involved in this heartwarming show of support and affection for our military families.
And to start the new year off right the Vietnam Brotherhood also donated a $350 check for MOTS to join the Manatee Chamber of Commerce! That's truly a gift that keeps on giving for an organization like ours. Thank you to all of our Vietnam Veterans who made this happen.
