Transparency To Your Community

 Status. Standing within the community. Classification of organization determining rights and responsibilities.

I have been thinking of my own interpretation of the definition of 'status', and applying this definition to myself locally, socially and professionally. We, Prospect Riding Center, have received our 501c3 Status. We are now a Non Profit able to give tax receipts for your gifts, support, donations, scholarships, enabling PRC to function and fulfill our roll to provide Therapeutic Equine Activities to our surrounding Manatee, Sarasota and Desoto County communities.  Announcing the ability to provide tax receipts allowed our Prospect Riding Center scholarship fund to grow. Applications  for multiple sessions with participants, as well as joining us for Extended Summer hours are now available.

Our interaction on our own social pages has been postings of more of our policies and procedures. Being transparent means something to us personally. Over the past month since receiving the IRS Acceptance letter we have been again addressing our business plan and future support. The foundation of volunteer teams we have had on various projects continue to move towards goals and dreams becoming reality. Freely sharing our knowledge and joining together in seeking continued education has been a good bond for team members. Learning about how our volunteers think and knowing why they volunteer really helps to find a match for activities around here, seems to bring out the best in folks.

We recently attended a First Aid Certification Class together. The class was held at our local Myakka City Fire House. Solidifying to support each other locally! The class was great, comfortable, as well as most reasonably priced. Check out what your local Fire house has to offer and support those First Responders. We brought a token gift of fresh eggs from the chickens and ducks. Smelling the kitchen going during class was a cozy addition.

The Herd here at the ranch has grown again. Our two latest horses, Belle and Winn, have been great additions to our programs, donated from local folks here in Myakka City, thank you. Did i mention the idea to support local?
